I suggest you break this post into Two parts.

  1. Welcome to Canton and 2) Nimisila Reservoir

Welcome to Canton! Rosellen enjoyed a sweet and easy direct flight from Orlando via Breeze Airlines. $118 RT with a very early Uber ride.

Upon arrival at 8:30 am we chose the Twisted Citrus for breakfast. They had the expected orange plastic furniture - if you looked beyond an explosion of Christmas decor. These folks took a “Christmas in July” theme to the max.

Fueled up, but still limping with a walker boot, Rosellen and Matt decided to view the Cuyahoga Valley via scenic train ride. This lovely vintage train departed from a North Akron depot for a two hour out-and-back. Reversing directions at the Peninsula station farther North.

Nick, our conductor and personal tour guide shared stories and pointed out features along the way. As we pulled into the Peninsula station, Rosellen spotted Tom a Susan Baccus (close friends from Orlando) preparing to board the same train. This was a huge surprise. We connected with a call and shared a table for our return leg. They remained on board to return to their car at the other end.
