Nice campground at altitude, nice sleeping weather, with easy access to Asheville, Hendersonville, hiking galore, and directly on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
OK, the camping site was excellent, so had to write about it. Why has it taken me 45 years to find this place? The tools of the time only allowed searches using X and Y. Today with AI I can search using Z, and the altitude led me to 65 degree sleeping weather. This places is also loaded with amenities, lodging, white linen dining, camp store, gift stores #1 and #2. I’m thinking this is a great place to see the fall colors.
The campground has a good deal of elevation change. Although a short distance, it is a hike just going to the restroom. I.E., not a good stop for those with walkers and wheelchairs.

I’m sure there are more but site B26 was ideal for Sunnyside Up, level with direct access to the sky for solar panels and Starlink. Site 29 and 27 are also very good.
These would be the Smoky mountains. The Smokies are about 450 million years old, whereas the Rockies are only 30 to 50 million years old.
