I had a nice chat with a great-grandmother, I went horseback riding with her great-grandkids. They bring their RV to this festival every year with a large contingent of family, although the biggest holiday for her was Christmas, when she routinely has 45 guests, and many stay over at the house. Believe it or not, she can feed them all with one large turkey, one large ham, and one large brisket, loads of sides, and a couple gallons of milk for the kids. She’s known for making large quantities of lemonade as well.

Matt, On behalf of the Minnesota Bluegrass & Old-Time Music Association, I want to thank you for helping to make August Fest a great success
You were one of nearly 300 people who gave of their time and energy for this organization, and we know that without you, we could not even attempt an event like this.
Without a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator this year, we know that some things may have slipped through the cracks, and communication could have been better, but I hope that you had a good time, met some great people, and most importantly, heard some great music! The great news is, we have recruited someone to take on that role for next year!
We have offered admission refunds to those who signed up and completed at least 12-hours of volunteer shifts. We did our best to keep track of your hours during the festival, but to be sure we don’t miss you, please respond to this email to let me know that you worked the requisite hours, and would like your refund. I will compare all requests to the sign-up and check-in information that we have, and process your refund within the next week or two. Of course, if you would like to decline your refund and consider your time a donation to the cause, we will be doubly grateful.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please share them with me. Especially if you have any stories about things that happened while you were volunteering, please share those as well!
