The Davidson River Campground is a large campground, near Brevard NC, west of Hendersonville and less than an hour from Asheville NC. There is a nice trail along the river that leads to the church, a bridge and a swimming area. There are trees down in the river from Hurricane Helene, one year ago September 2024.
The English Chapel
On this site, they built a church in 1840. The land was sold (donated) for $5, and the wood was sourced, cut and donated from the local community.
The wooden building lasted 80 years, and then they rebuilt it in stone that exist today. If you look closely, they spelled out "English Chapel " in stone.
